Music Page Updates

August 21st, 2010

I wrote a script that goes through my music directory, loads the .mp3 file, pulls info out of a .txt file of the same name and puts it for your viewing pleasure on the music page. Let me know what ya’ll think.

For the time being I put a link to my full music directory on the music page because a friend complained he couldn’t access it anymore. There you go Tom.

Hello world!

August 10th, 2010

Yea I switched to WordPress from my own CMS. It seems a lot easier and now I can use funky plugins. I also feel like it should be more secure but we’ll see about that.

On that note I’d like to direct your attention to the assholes that have been hotlinking all my awesome images and animated gifs. I had to take them down because in 10 days this month animated gif’s have accounted for almost 40 gigabytes of my bandwidth. 40 effin’ gigabytes.  To use 40 gigabytes of bandwidth someone would have to view an animated gif about 16,000 times (most animated gif’s are between 1-4 MB’s so I’ll average it to about 2.5). That’s insane. People have viewed hotlinks to animated gifs on my website at least 16,000 times in the last ten days. That would be terrific if I was making money off the traffic but I’m not. So it sucks. As a quick fix I’ve decided to take down all my awesome .gif and .jpg files. Maybe I’ll put them on some stupid imgbucket site. Assholes…

I guess I should really be blaming Google Image Search but still, I feel better focusing my contempt on a group of assholes.

Obviously there’s more to be changed on the site and I doubt anyone is reading this anyway because of how often I do update. Oh well.
